Despite the documents released in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial proving that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, the Arizona FBI field offices continue to work with CAIR. According to the CAIR website, the FBI Arizona field office is helping to coordinate a meeting between representatives of the FBI and the Muslim community at the Islamic Center of Tucson. A previous post has reported on the relationship between the CAIR Arizona chapter and the FBI, noting that FBI cooperation with CAIR is controversial within the agency. As that post pointed out, Muslim Brotherhood affiliated organizations in the U.S., along with their defenders, often cite their relationship with government agencies as a defense against their critics.
