Local media is reporting that Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean addressed the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) urging U.S. Muslims to run for office:
“You need to run for political office,” Dean said Saturday. “The only way you can achieve your goals is to stand up and say who you are and be proud of it.”
The crowd reportedly gave Dean a standing ovation. Republicans declined invitations to speak at the affair. ISNA is an integral part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood.
