Further information is available regarding the recent open letter to the Pope and the Archbishop of Canterbury warning of the dangers to world peace in the absence of peace between Muslims and Christians. As an earlier post has discussed, the signatories to the letter included a large number of Muslim Brotherhood leaders around the world. According to a press release and Saudi media report, the event was announced in the U.S at a press conference held by Bosnian Grand Mufti Mustafa Ceric and Georgetown University Professor John Esposito. Both men are known to have long ties to the global Muslim Brotherhood. The press conference itself was organized by the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought, the Jordanian organization that sponsored the letter itself.
