According to the website of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a Shiite imam associated with the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood hosted a recent gathering of Catholics and Muslims. According to the report, Imam Hassan Qazwini, the Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Center of America, hosted the ninth annual “Midwest Regional Dialogue of Catholics and Muslims” at the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan Sunday, October 21 -Tuesday, October 23. The delegation was made up of 22 Catholic and Muslim religious leaders and scholars and were selected by The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and ISNA.
Imam Qazwini is a member of the Fiqh Council of North America, the theological body associated with ISNA, and both organizations are known to be part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. Qawinzi has also signed statements and appeared at numerous events associated with the U.S. Brotherhood.
