A Bosnian news publication is reporting that Mustafa Ceric, the Grand Mufti of Bosnia and global Muslim Brotherhood figure, is supporting the son of the former Bosnian President in his bid to take control of the main Muslim political party in Bosnia. According to the report, Party of Democratic Action [SDA] Deputy Chairman Bakir Izetbegovic intends to unseat the current SDA Chairman and take over the party’s leadership. The report also states that Izetbegovic is supported “by party malcontents” such as Hasan Cengic, Halid Genjac, Sefik Dzaferovic, Ahmet Hadzipasic, and Reis Mustafa Ceric. Hasan Cengic played a leading role at the Third World Relief Agency, a Viennese based organization that funneled money to jihadists in Bosnia during the conflict in the 1990’s. The funds were alleged to have been funneled though the SDA at that time, headed by then President Alija Izetbegović. Mustafa Ceric also played a role at TWRA, heading the Zagreb office. A final showdown among SDA top officials is supposed to take place in late December, at the Main Committee’s final session for the year. Mustafa Ceric’ is part of the European Council For Fatwa and Research (ECFR), a theological body of clerics associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and headed by Muslim Brotherhood leader Qatari Sheikh Youssef Qaradawi.
