The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), a U.K. umbrella group dominated by Muslim Brotherhood groups, has announced a media-training workshop for Muslims being sponsored by a Muslim Brotherhood foundation and a London city government. According to the MCB website, the Muslim Media Empowerment Project will hold a series of one day courses for young Muslims that includes Crisis Management, Media Interview Techniques, and Marketing & PR. Graduates are expected to help local Islamic organizations in the Tower Hamlet area by “offering media guidance and liaison.” The workshop brochure indicates that the training will be conducted by a media consultant who worked for the BBC for 25 years as a radio presenter. The project is being sponsored by the Cordoba Foundation and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The Cordoba Foundation is led by Anas Al Tikriti, the former head of the Muslim Association of Britain and now a leader in the British Muslim Iniative (BMI), both known to be Muslim Brotherhood groups.
