CAIR Meets With Jordanian King in Washington

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has announced that its executive director met in early March with Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Washington, D.C. According to a press release:

Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Executive Director Nihad Awad today joined other American Muslim and Arab-American leaders in a meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Washington, D.C. Meeting participants discuss Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip that killed more than 100 Palestinians, many of them civilians. Other topics discussed during today’s meeting included the war in Iraq and intercultural bridge-building efforts. Abdullah will meet with President Bush tomorrow to discuss bilateral relations and Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts. He recently spoke to a near-capacity crown at Princeton University. The other groups at the meeting were not identified. National media had reported that the King was in Washington to meeting with President Bush.
