The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has announced an agreement of cooperation with a Tanzanian University. According to the report of an Islamic news agency:
The Riyadh-based World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with Mirgori University in Tanzania. The MOU signed by Dr. Saleh Al Wohaibi, secretary general of WAMY, and Prof. Hamza Anjouzi of the University, stipulates cooperation between the two sides in the scientific, academic and cultural domains as well as providing the University with the specialized Arabic references. Dr. Khaled Al Ojeimi, the head of Africa’s Committee at WAMY, said the signing of the MOU comes in line with WAMY’s policy as regards enhancing relations with the institutions of the higher education in Africa.
WAMY is strongly tied to the global Muslim Brotherhood and the organization is highly active in Africa. U.S. government agencies and officials have argued that WAMY has helped spread Islamic extremism around the world as well as sponsoring terrorism in places such as Bosnia, Israel, and India. Several previous posts have discussed WAMY activities in Africa.
