The Saudi Press Agency has announced that the Secretary General of the Muslim World League has met with an official from the Russian Islamic Council. According to the report:
Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Dr Abdullah Al-Turki received here today Head of the Union of the Social Organizations at the Russian Islamic Council Sheikh Mohammed Salahuddinov and the accompanying delegation.They reviewed the role of the Council in the field of Islamic education, the Holy Quran memorization and other activities. Salahuddinov expressed keenness on cooperation with the MWL in the field of social awareness in line with the Islamic teachings.For his part, Dr Al-Turki confirmed the readiness of the MWL to cooperate with the Council in a manner that serves Islam and Muslims.
The Muslim World League was established in 1962 as a means for the propagation of Saudi “Wahabbi” Islam. Muslim Brothers played an important role in its founding and, to date, the League has been strongly with the Brotherhood. The MWL, together with the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), are Saudi organizations believed by U.S. government officials to have helped to spread Islamic extremism around the world as well as sponsoring terrorism in places such as Bosnia, Israel, and India.
