The Point de BASCULE blog has posted an extensive report on cooperation between the Libyan World Islamic Call Society (WICS) and the Global Muslim Brotherhood titled “The Muslim Brotherhood and Gaddafi were partners not too long ago.” The report begins:
In encouraging Libyan soldiers to kill leader Muammar Gaddafi (Point de Bascule), Muslim Brotherhood (MB) patriarch Youssef Qaradawi has got himself in a bind. It was his MB that had collaborated extensively with the man whom they condemn as a tyrant today. Qaradawi’s call to assassinate Gaddafi has been translated into English by MEMRI. On February 28, 2011, it was still possible to view a March 29, 2010 message on a Libyan website in which Qaradawi hailed the courage of Gaddafi for having released Islamists from jail.

An earlier post reported that Bosnian Grand Mufti Mustafa Ceric and a closely associated Mufti from Serbia were visiting Libya on February 14 where they apparently accepted a donation from Libyan leader Mu’ammar al-Qadhafi for the construction of the administration building of the Rijaset [head office]of the Islamic Community in Sarajevo. Considered by some to be a leading “liberal” Islamic leader, Mustafa Ceric is tied to the global Muslim Brotherhood through his membership in the European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR), headed by Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi and by his participation in the U.K.-based “Radical Middle Way” consisting of a wide range of associated scholars representing the global Muslim Brotherhood.
