The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood website has reported that a leader of the Egyptian Brotherhood has congratulated Tunisia and the Enahda Party on its electoral victory. According to the report:
Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Secretary General, Dr. Saad Katatny praised the National Assembly electoral procedure in Tunisia following its revolution, describing it as a unique and democratic experience for Tunisia. He congratulated the Islamist Nahda Party, which won a notable majority in most divisions so far. “It is a welcome result which demonstrates the people’s full support and trust in the party”, he stated. In his statement, Katatny called on all political factions in Tunisia, to embrace the upcoming phase and work for the good of the country and the people’s well being. “This is a new era for Tunisia and all factions must unite, cooperate and coordinate to ensure the country continues on its path towards democracy and freedom with the country’s best interest in mind,” he said.”
