In our post from last week reporting on the $1 billion movie on the life of the Islamic prophet Mohamed, we inadvertently identified the wrong company financing the film. According to to Variety.com report, the Al-Noor Holdings that is doing the financing is a Qatari based-entity, not the UAE group owned by Tarek Bin Laden. GMBDW regrets the error and encourages readers to bring to our attention any errors in our reporting which we always correct as soon as we become aware of them. We do note Global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi’s role as an advisor to the film which we consider to be a significant aspect of the story. As it turns out, we had already reported on Qaradawi’s role in the film in early November (including the same Variety report) so we will just delete this most recent duplicative post and chalk the whole affair up to fatigue from trying to cover the events of the last two years!
