The Muslim American Society has joined other elements of the Global Muslim Brotherhood in protesting their inclusion on a list published by the UAE that designates as terrorists a large group of organizations in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. According to the MAS statement:
November 15, 2014 – The Muslim American Society was shocked to read news reports claiming that the United Arab Emirates has listed the Muslim American Society, along with numerous other organizations, as a terrorist organization. The Muslim American Society is a religious community service organization that serves people in the United States. We have no dealings with the United Arab Emirates, and hence are perplexed by this news.
Before proceeding any further, we would first like to verify the accuracy of the news reports and receive an official response from the United Arab Emirates regarding the reports. We would also like to seek the help of our government to address this issue.”
The GMBDW reported earlier this week on the publication of the UAE list as well as on the reactions of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) on their inclusion.
The MAS was identified in a Hudson Institute report authored by the GMBDW editor as a part of the US. Muslim Brotherhood and closely tied to the Egyptian organization.
